The Torimba Festival is Ravenshoe’s biggest community event and is held annually in October. The word Torimba is derived from Tourism and Timber.
The Torimba Festival which includes the timber craft exhibition known as the Festival of the Forest promotes Ravenshoe’s heritage as a former timber town as well as marketing the area for tourists to visit. Torimba fosters community spirit and unites the town and district. The Torimba Mardi Gras parade is example of community participation.
The Torimba Committee is made up of local volunteers who always put in 100% in order to create memorable festivals year after year.
